 Pork noodle soup in a tom yum style at a canal-side stall in the compound of Wat Ang Kaew on Therd Thai Road in Phasi Charoen district  of Bangkok is second to none.  Those who try noodles here will surely come back. It has a unique aroma of fresh ingredients. A bowl of noodle soup is 30 baht and a special bowl costs 40 baht. The stall also sells iced coffee, iced tea and herbal drinks at 10 baht per glass. There is a porkball stall with tasty sauce nearby. Everthing is sold at cheap prices here. Yummy!

ก๋วยเตี๋ยวต้มยำหมูสับ วัดอ่างแก้ว  ถนนเทอดไท เขตภาษีเจริญ ฝั่งธน รสชาติไม่เป็นรองใครเลย ใครได้ลองชิมแล้ว ต้องกลับมาอีกแน่นอน รสชาติเด็ด มีกลิ่นหอมมะนาวและถั่วลิสงคั่วสดใหม่ ขามละ 30 บาท ถ้าสั่งชามพิเศษ 40 บาท ทางร้านยังมี โอเลี้ยง ชาดำเย็น เก็กฮวย และน้ำสมุนไพรต่างๆบริการแก้วละ 10 บาท  มีร้านลูกชิ้นหมูปิ้งน้ำจิ้มเด็ดขายอยู่ข้างๆด้วยค่ะ  บรรยากาศริมคลอง ใต้ต้นดอกพิกุลนั่งสบายๆ ร้านเปิดตั้งแต่เช้า 7โมงก็ได้กลิ่นหอมของเครื่องก๋วยเตี๋ยว ราวๆ บ่ายกว่าก็หมดแล้วค่ะ ถ้าเข้ามาในวัด จะเห็นป้ายก๋วยเตี๋ยวต้มยำหมูสับปักอยู่ด้านใน ทางเข้าวัดจะมาได้อีกทาง โดยเดินมาทางซอยเพชรเกษม 27 ซอยจะอยู่ตรงข้ามมหาวิทยาลัยสยาม  มีร้านกล้วยปิ้งรสหอมอร่อยไม้ละ 5 บาทอยู่ใกล้ปากซอย เดินไปสุดซอยจะมีสะพานข้ามคลองภาษีเจริญมาวัดอ่างแก้ว บนสะพานจะมองเห็นร้านก๋วยเตี๋ยวและร้านลูกชิ้นปิ้งตั้งอยู่ริมคลอง ลองมาชิมดูนะคะ บอกได้คำเดียวว่า "อร่อย"

Talad Wat Khaek, Soi Silom 20-a place of tasty Thai food in the heart of Bangkok

A saying " When in Rome, do as the Romans do" gives useful advice to people visiting another place or staying in an unfamiliar environment.  When come to food, I like to go to shops or stalls popular among local residents.  If you are in Silom area and want to try tasty dishes, it's better to visit places where residents or office workers often go. One of those venues is Soi Silom 20  in Bangkok's Bang Rak district.  Let's explore!

"เข้าเมืองตาหลิ่ว ต้องหลิ่วตาตาม" สำนวนไทยประยุกต์ใช้ได้เสมอสำหรับผู้มาเยือนสถานที่ต่างถิ่น เมื่อพูดถึงอาหาร ฉันชอบไปกินตามร้านหรือแผงที่คนท้องถิ่นชอบไป  ถ้าใครผ่านมาแถวสีลมและอยากทานของอร่อยๆตามซอย น่าจะลองแวะมาสถานที่ที่คนในพื้นที่หรือคนทำงานละแวกนี้ชอบไปกัน หนึ่งในนั้นก็คือ ซอยสีลม 20 นั่นเอง เราลองมาสำรวจกัน!

 Soi Silom 20 in Bang Rak district is a paradise of delicious food, desserts and bread. Fashional outfits, bags and other items are also available here. This area is widely known as "Talad Wat Khaek Silom" as Soi Silom 20  is opposite Wat Khaek, a famous Hindu temple in Bangkok.

The vending atmosphere is lively in the morning. Vendors take turns to sell food, fried noodles, salad, Thai sweetmeat and other goods along both sides of this side street everday, except Monday as street vending is not allowed.  However, shops, permanent stalls and the market still open.

ซอยสีลม 20 เขตบางรัก จัดเป็นแดนสวรรค์ของอาหารและขนมอร่อยๆ เสื้อผ้าแฟชั่น ของใช้ และสินค้าอื่นก็มีมากมาย บริเวณด้านในจะเป็นตลาดสด เรียกว่าตลาดซอยประชุม แต่คนส่วนใหญ่จะรู้จักกันในนาม  "ตลาดวัดแขกสีลม " เพราะซอยตลาดอยูู่ฝั่งตรงข้ามกับวัดแขก หรือวัดพระศรีมหาอุมาเทวี เป็นวัดฮินดู ตั้งอยู่บนถนนปั้น

บรรยากาศตลาดจะคึกคักช่วงเช้าถึงเที่ยงทุกวัน ยกเว้นวันจันทร์ ที่ไม่มีของขายตามฟุตบาทหรือริมถนนในซอย แต่ร้านค้า และแผงขายของในตลาดสดยังคงเปิดขายตามปกติค่ะ

How to get there:
There are several bus line numbers passing Talad Wat Khaek, such as buses No. 15, 77, 115, 504, 544 and 547. The market and the Hindu temple, Wat Khaek, are not far from  BTS Saladaeng skytrain station.

มีรถเมล์ผ่านหลายสาย อาทิ สาย 15, 77, 115, 504, 544 และ 547 และอยู่ไม่ไกลจากสถานีรถไฟฟ้าศาลาแดง ผู้คนมักมาจับจ่ายซื้อของบริเวณซอยนี้ และยังเป็นสถานที่ยอดนิยมของนักท่องเที่ยวทั้งไทยและต่างชาติ
